The Viking Bed

Klavohn Studios designed and built this Viking bed built for an imaginative young girl whose life was nearly lost when a tree fell through the house and inches from her head.

​The family lived in a hotel for over a year while their house was rebuilt. When they moved back home and we delivered this canopy bed specially designed with the strongest solid white oak set in mortise and tenon joints, metal support brackets, and a low bottom rail so that monsters can't fit underneath. Emma can sleep well at night protected by timber and iron.

We call this the Viking bed for the primary reason that Vikings would have built their long boats using white oak frames. But also because Vikings are tough and the family is of Scandinavian heritage.
